A chopper flying over a popular California shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling wildly, eventually losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers looked on.
Videos shared on social media show the helicopter starting to spin over Huntington Beach then falling towards the border of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palms and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Local firefighters stated five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
The department said the helicopter was associated with an yearly “Cars N Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for the next day.
